BlackBerry Tips Tuesday – BlackBerry Storm and a new way to text.
For BlackBerry Tips Tuesday we have quite a bit of news to cover, so let’s just jump in!
First is an application review, it’s called Vlingo this application allows your to speak your text messages into your phone so you don’t have to do the dirty work of typing. I played with this application at the BlackBerry WES conference a bit last May and didn’t think much of it, but I recently got pulled over (at work) for texting while at a stop light (I didn’t even know they could pull you over when you are stopped), and thought it would be handy to have an application like this. So, I downloaded it and played with it for a while. Much to my surprise it works pretty well, I do have to speak slow and clear, but other than that I give it two thumbs up. This is worth checking out if you a a BlackBerry user who spends a lot of time texting- Second, is Engadget is reporting that they got their hands on a Verizon internal presentation for the BlackBerry Storm that is to be released soon (as my VZW Government rep tells me) and word is that demo models have been shipped to the Verizon stores. My best guess is that we should be seeing this all touch screen iPhone killer in a few weeks. I’ll let you know as soon as I get one what my thoughts are on it. I am going to call and see if I can’t get my hands on one before they release soon… I will keep you posted.
